Guarango is a non-profit association based in Lima, Peru, with 17 years experience producing and distributing documentaries about the environment, culture and sustainable development.

Our previous feature films about communities embroiled in mining conflicts have won more than 30 international awards:

“Choropampa, The Price of Gold” (2002) and “Tambogrande, Mangos, Murder, Mining” (2007). Both films were directed by Stephanie Boyd and Ernesto Cabellos.
In August of 2009, Guarango's film “Cooking Up Dreams” opened the Lima Film Festival. This feature-length film presents a portrait of Peruvian society through its gastronomy.

Quisca is a not-for-profit association based in Cusco, Peru, dedicated to producing films that provoke, question and inspire. In 2009 Quisca was born out of an alliance between Cusco film makers and Stephanie Boyd, an award-winning film maker with 10 years experience in Guarango.

Quisca is a Quechua word from the ancient language of the Incas, meaning thorn. It is a symbol of the strength and resistance of the 'small'.

“The Devil Operation” is our first feature-length film.
